Oh no you're not!
The only exemption is when an application has already been made and paid for before the end of the month either online or via phone since the tax has then been 'issued'.
In that circumstance you are allowed to drive for up to 5 days after the end of the month without displaying a valid tax disc.
The OP doesn't pay for their tax disc - they get it free because of the rate of DLA that they're on
If my typing is pants or I seem partcuarly blunt, please excuse me, it physically hurts to type. :wall: If I seem a bit random and don't make a lot of sense, it may have something to do with the voice recognition software that I'm using!0 -

Correct, but only if theirs (DVLA) and the MID systems are up to date! If your VED, insurance & MOT, or any combination, expire at around the same time there's no chance! Even if the vehicle is completely road legal it's not possible.0 -

I have just found that the MID database takes a few days to update. Being trying to tax online for 5 days and eventually it went through today. And the insurance docs needless to say arrived this morning too.0 -
my car tax ran out yestaday i sent off the froms dla sent me to get my free tax over 1 week ago and havent recived anything back and i need my car today what should i do?
If you only posted it a week ago then there's a high chance they haven't even got it in the dealing office yet especially if it was the Blackpool office, they receive 1/3 of a million letters a week and it can take 7-10 working days just to reach the office from when you posted it... Then it sits in a massive pile of requests as they are all dealt with in date order. Eventually some one will come to your request and process it
When it does come, do keep an eye on the expiry date. It is up to you to request a replacement in plenty of time. Additionally, do not lose it. It is a valuable piece of paper! Replacement will take even longer than your neone0
