URGENT: baxi boiler breakdown
Comments
-
When my Baxi back boiler broke down about 3 years ago I called out Scottish Gas (same as BG). They fixed it and never charged me. They said that if I took out their service plan (started off at £16 a month) Then I wouldn't be charged to fix it. I was only too glad to do that. They service it once a year too. I'm now paying £13 a month.
Scottish (British) Gas is not my supplier but they still service the boiler and will fix the central heating if it goes on the blink again.
The yearly service gives me peace of mind.0 -
Yearly service? BG only do a yearly safety check. That is the reason I have gone for heateam for my insurance and will get a proper heateam service in the spring0

Is it not a service? I thought it was. They take it to bits and clean it all out and they're here quite a while doing it.
What's the difference between a 'safety and maintenance inspection' and a service?0 -

It is a service. Some boilers require more work than others. There have been a number of threads on this.
If BG have to 'pick up the bill' if anything goes wrong, they have an interest in ensuring the correct maintenance is carried out.0
