Lab-created diamond engagement ring

I am thinking of opting for CZ or other lab created engagement ring. They are so cheap on ebay!
Just wondering if anyone else did the same and if they are happy with it. Would be happy for some pointers as to where to buy.

They are cheap for a reason... they aren't natural, one of a kind, unique diamonds0

I had a lab created one from ebay to wear until I got my real e.ring. Just type in simulated diamond, you will get loads to choose from
I would avoid going for one that looks big though, stick to under a carat or it will just look really fake.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I dont think it matters if its a 'fake' diamond, real diamond or no diamond, the ring is a symbol, no the stone. Thats my personal opinion anywayDebt free wannabe

Hi,
My engagement ring is a created emerald, with tiny real diamonds around it. It is 16 years old and has done really well. As has already been said, it's what you want that matters.
Now that we have a bit more disposable income, my husband is going to buy me an eternity ring, and this time I will be getting real diamonds and emeralds, I am having lots of fun trying to decide exactly what I want and where to get it from! But we are now in a position to afford it.
No one has ever comented on my ring not looking 'real' and to me it is real as it's the meaning behind why it was given that is important.
I think the created gems have come on a lot over the years and some look better than others. at the end of the day get the irng that you want. I read somewhere else on here someone saying that they had a CZ stone in their ring with smaller eal diamonds and have now just had the CZ changed to a real diamond.
Good Luck and have fun choosing it.

When i was married the first time I had a CZ trilogy ring that I used to wear instead of my engagement ring at times.
It looked just as good as the real thing but cost under £30. At a glance you couldn't tell the difference. We couldn't have afforded the real thing and I would have been worried about wearing something that expensive anyway.
My current engagement ring is worth about £1000 and sends me into regular panics but I love it.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

with the budget you mentioned in the other thread, then i think going for a CZ ring might be a great idea.
you can have fun looking through http://www.freecz.com which sells CZ jewellery, the site is owned by Wink Jones, who also sells excellent diamonds.
As an alternative, you could get a calibration CZ from here (dont worry, it only appears red as its been photographed within a special viewer, its really white) its $5 for a 1ct sized diamond (6.5mm diameter) and then have it set in a ring.

thanksa guys for the wonderful ideas! I am now certain i will go for a simulant. i actually LIKE the idea of a man made diamond! I found QVC diamonique lovely but the carats are way too big, i prefer 0.5 and most are well over 1carat!

I wear a really expensive engagement ring that my husband had handmade for me that I wear on my left hand and a cheap diamonique ring from QVC that I wear on my right hand. My engagement ring cost at least 50 times more, yet people always comment on the other ring. It drives me nuts! If you want an engagement ring rather than something that looks like a cocktail ring, don't go for anything over about 1.5 ct, because then it will look fake. Its also worth getting it set in gold or platinum coated silver as that adds to the effect.
Sorry, you were posting the same time as me, so I didn't see your latest post. You can get diamonique with smaller stones. The way you can tell CZ is generally from the setting.
