Lloyds TSB Air Miles Duo Credit Card

Options
Hi Guys

I just wanted to know how long will i have to wait to find out whether I am successful getting the Air Miles Duo Credit Card.

I applied this morning and it said that they will call me if they need additional info or write a letter to inform me if I am successful.

I am applying for this credit card solely to take advantage 1,500 airmiles voucher from airmiles if i purchase 10 pounds using the card.

I had ref number beginning with 05...is this good or bad?

How long would i expect to find out if i am successful? And how can i find out my application status?

I earn more than 15K a year and just recently opened a new account with Lloyds. Are they strict in choosing certain type of customers or are easy to get one?

I have no adverse credit history apart from late payments over 4 years ago.

Thanks

I got mine in about 1-2 weeks I think. I only have an ISA with Lloyds.
  • If you had applied in branch they would have informed you immediately.

If you had applied in branch they would have informed you immediately.

I decided to apply this morning online.

If i call the customer card services, to find out the status of the application, will they already had a decision made and credit limit set or is it pending? Are they closed at weekends?

I believe that the internet process is what we in trade call "smoke and mirrors" i.e. the website captures the details, then a file (or heaven forbid a printed report) gets passed to a data entry monkey somewhere for them to key it in a and get a decision.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

Thats what i thought. If it is successful, then overnight it would have updated the online banking and see it there with my platinum account.

I think the credit card department who deal with the credit applications is closed at weekends, so i will check it online to see if im successful on tuesday.

    Does they search only experian?
  • I would just wait a few days then maybe phone and ask. There is no rush surely if you only applied because of the deal for airmiles.

The airmiles are not dealt with through them anyway so you will have to also sort that out through the airmiles company.

    Thanks fellas.
I applied lloyds airmiles duo credit card via airmiles website and NOT Lloyds tsb website. Does this differ between the two when applying for airmiles duo card or do they both use the same credit agency ie experian and creditscoring method to decide?
  • I applied online and got my card in less than 5 days, with a good credit limit as well
