I owuld tell him you are not happy with the service you are receiving and are considering going elsewhere. Give him a deadline and make him stick to it.

Solicitiors are lazy !!!!!! who charge a fortune for doing almost nothing IMHO

Its about normal Im afraid :( Yours it not the only property he's doing the conveyencing for and everyone wants theirs done NOW. Its my experience that you have to keep on the phone to keep your file at the top of the pile so it gets worked on
  • Keep on bugging him and do tell him that you have been given a month notice from your Landlord!

Whilst im sure not all solicitors are bad, certainly in my experience, all the solicitors ive ever dealt with for any reason have been next to useless. Ive had to either do their job for them, or write/phone/email hundreds of times just to get a simple response. So, you are not alone in your findings. :(

In defence of solicitors, I'm happy with mine. He keeps us updated. We're due to complete this month and there's not been any major delays. He knows who I am when I call and is always friendly.
If only they didn't cost so much!

My solicitor was pretty good - didn't really have to pester her at all. But my sis is now having a total mare with her solicitor... because she went to a cheaper one. They're ALL overpaid, but I do think that cheaper ones will charge less because they juggle more customers... if you know what i mean.

Just think about how much you're paying, and pester him. You're paying him enough, your house is as important as all the others he's dealing with, and you are entitled to proper service!
