Hi, a normal sky dish will work fine, but check first as most of the blocks already have a central dish for the whole block, as they don't want thousands of sat dishes up. so I don't think you will need a dish, i did'nt!0

Depending on which channels you want will depend on the dish size, the 40cm 'Sky Digital' package dish will be too small for the UK only channels.
Have a look at the Astra SES site, I think they have the footprint maps for the recommended dish size for reception.
Or google Astra 2D & Eurobird there are loads of forums out there for satellite information, as there is more to it than just Sky.These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
I think you'll find as milesm says that most blocks now have a dish installed for the whole block and all you need is a sky box
I was in Hohne very recently (just down the road from Fally) and every block there had said dishes installed
The welfaere officer or estate warden or the local hive (google fally hive) will be alble to tell youIf you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have failed to plan properly
I've only ever been wrong once! and that was when I thought I was wrong but I was right0 -
we will be getting a house (i'm disabled) and we have sky plus, and 3 multi rooms for the bedrooms, just werent sure whether i should buy a new dish there in case mine doesnt pick all the channles up0

your UK dish will work no problem you just need to get it fitted from the guy down in Fally decent enough prices and you get your tax back.
do you have an address yet? who are you coming too?Bargain BoyNo amount of money is worth more than good health0 -

just so you know that most Flats have been renivated with @ 10-12 remaing.
this is great but once they are finished they go from 6 houses per flat to 4, so you can see the dilema.currently 5 flats are in the process and a further 5 have been emptied. if it is indeed a HOUSE you are moving into then it will be the small bungalow next to the park one of which is empty as we speak.
Do you drive? do you have kids? do you know when you are moving into Fally?
feel free to PM me any questions about Fally or indeed what you would like to know about Germany.Bargain BoyNo amount of money is worth more than good health0 -
i drive, kids go to boarding school so i dont need to be near camp, moving august 6th, housing forms are in with disability paperwork so they know not to put me in flats. got a disability working dog so need access to a garden aswell. i've never normally had problems with moves and housing but been told fally prefer to only put senior ranks in houses. ( hubbies lcpl). i grew up in Berlin and speak german fluently as father made sure we all could hold a conversation on our own which luckily puts me in an advantage when i get there, Fally though i have never been to and its a whole regiment moving and
so everything will probably go tits up.0 -
When I was posted in JHQ there used to be this bloke who did 200 miles around JHQ. He installed SKY dishes and even got you setup with SKY itself by using the Mill Hill address. Have a look in the back of the Sixth Sense newspaper for his details (if he;s still there.. lol)Debt free from January 2019 - Paid off £31,161.70 in 7 years.10 year anniversary0

if he is a man called luke davy then he is long gone. but there are plenty of advertisers in the sixth sense.0
