Abbey stopped cheques

Yes we had a cheque stopped too,yesterday

This was to a company that lost a cheque last year, and which we called Abbey about at the time. However, we have since written cheques to that same company with no problems from the same cheque book.

We called Abbey today and at first they said it was a technical problem. They then said it was because it was a old cheque book (although we have been using it with no problems Oct/Nov/Dec last year).

They said all further cheques would go through, although we are waiting for more letters now as we have written cheques which have not been debited from our account and should have been.

We have decided that if we or any of the companies we have written cheques to end up out of pocket we will change bank accounts.

Nice (in a way) to hear it's not just us!
