Dept Head visiting me at home - eek - need advice

I have been in exactly the same position (although without the pregnancy!). I was harrassed by my boss at a County Council and had to be signed off in the end because of the stress it was causing me.
The meeting with your dept head will probably see them being accompanied by someone from Occupational Health Dept to guage how you are feeling and normally to work out any way in which you could return to work. You should stick to your guns and point out that unless the manager isn't there then it would be impossible for you to carry out your current role because of the stress they put you under.
Look into the formal grievance procedure as it is this that you will probably need to go down. Naturally your manager will know about it but it's the only way for the council to take it seriously and is most effective at trying to reach a resolution.
However, as above - try and think of some solutions you would be happy with and to appear as positive as possible about finding a solution to it all. I was a little negative at the start of mine and ended up on weekly reviews - although this was to talk about my manager's performance during that time as well as my own. It didnt help in my case though and got signed off by the doctor again until I found another job!
If you can show that you are trying to find a solution and the council does little about it, then it builds a case for constructive dismissal at the very least.matched betting: £879.63
