wedding DJ's in North-West: recommendations?

Ok, I posted this thread on hitched.co.uk but their chaotic organisation of the boards meant that it disappeared off the chart within an evening, so I thought I'd turn to my favourite forum and ask for their help.

I need some recommendations for a DJ to play my evening wedding reception. If any of you have had direct experience of a North west DJ service and can recommend them I'd be very grateful for that information. Thanks!

My wife and I used a guy called James Barlow ( a.k.a The Wedding Singer )

He was the best choice we could have ever made !

We booked him to arrive during the day and play some background music during our meal and then in the evening he did the usual D.J bit, plus he sings live !

To give you an example of how good he is ....

1. When we first phoned him, he sent us a C.D with some examples of songs he could sing ( on the feedback on his website it says you cannot tell the difference between him singing a song and when he is playing a C.D ... believe me, thats true - he has an amazing voice ! )

2. He kept in touch with us during the process and played most of the songs that we had requested in advance.

3. During my wedding speech, the mike ( that the Hotel had supplied me ) failed ...
James calmly walked over and handed me his mike - I was a bag of nerves as it was, so that help from him was much needed !

Our wedding was filmed by ITV for a forthcoming programme ( First Dance ) - James was not phased by the cameras being there and was just about the nicest guy you could ever wish to have at your wedding ( and we thought his rates were really good too ! )

The feedback from all our guests was that he put on a first class night of entertainment ( that got everyone dancing ! ) - I cannot sing his praises enough !!

The ones with PLI and PAT cover are worth getting a quote from as they will certainly be a professional set up, rather than the stereotypical DJ with a couple of traffic lights, a shiny shirt and a medallion!
