Nuisance calls advice needed

  • Contact your network immediately!
Contact the police immediately, they do have the powers and ability to get the number, and with a bit more work the location of the phone during any call if its from another mobile.

BT take nusiance calls seriously and mobile networks are realising they have to as well, its customers and revenue go elsewhere if not!

Above all, take it seriously. It may just be a phone call now, you don't want it to progress to anything else.
Fiscally responsible or just a tight git? :

Thanks ever so much for all the replies, you've all really helped. I think I'll wait and see if he calls again tonight and then answer it myself and give him a stern warning. If that doesn't work I'll use ka7e excellent suggestion of an official sounding text warning he's been reported to network and police (I now know he's almost certainly on O2 thanks to the link provided, which will be useful for worrying him).

I will get her to report this to her network if he phones again regardless of what else I do. Hopefully he won't pester us again tonight but I'll update you all tomorrow.

    Fingers crossed :o
  • My dd had a similar problem. Got my son to answer, he said "sorry-dont know her" "I just bought this sim off ebay. Guy apologised and never called again!

Well turns out we didn't have to do anything in the end. She mentioned it to a friend who asked her for the number to phone him, when she put the number in her phone it came up as someone in her phonebook. Turns out that she borrowed my gf's phone a while back to call this person and thats why he had her number. He claimed he was just trying to find out whos number it was (hmmm, why phone for three hours solid for that  ) but my gf's friend was having none of it and basically told him not to be such an !!!!!!. He promised not to phone again and thus far he's stuck to his word.

Thanks again for all the help and advice, it is very much appreciated :T

im sure you can bar certain numbers on some handsets?
on telewest you can refuse to answer a witheld number as well, callers get the message 'the person you are calling does not answer witheld numbers'
