Demo a dyson and you will feel the suction is ok

try a Miele and it will take your hand off

So it's a Miele from me only down side is the bags can be a bit on the expensive side.

Another vote for Miele. OH does the vacuuming and he gave a Dyson away (and he's not the sort to give it away because he's generous, he gave it away because he thought it was rubbish).

    Henry for me;)

I've got 2, one's 22 years old and still going.

    Can't recommend Dyson at all.

had a dyson in the house when I was a kid, picked up dog hair very well but was heavy and very noisy, got a tiny miele now and it sucks like you would not believe and all you really ear is the suction not the motor. They do a turbo brush model thats meant to monster through hair as well, tbh I cant fault it, the bags are a bit of a pain but they seem to last along time as it packs them really tightly and the form factor is massively enhanced because of it. Totally recommend the Miele.
  • Thanks for the info. So it seems that miele are worth the money

If you have pets the Meile TT5000 Cat and Dog model is very good, it replaced my aging Dyson.
It comes with two turbo brushes, large one for carpets and a small one for stairs upholstery etc.
It also has an active carbon filter to minimise pet smells.
You can save a bit by buying the bags on-line and I can confirm they do last a long time.
