Cor no one ever says hi to me anymore
I reckon you is all going off me; I dont blame you all like. Sorry to hear about your friend Bookie, hopefully it can fought off or kept bay maybe? My Aunty died of Lukemia about 21 years ago and all the while my mam and dad were going to see her they told me she had a bad back so I never went, it was an opportunity to have the house to myself for the weekend
Anyway one day i get in from a driving lesson the phone is ringing and I pick it up. Its my Uncle Ernie who asks me to pass a message on to my mam saying that Dot is dieing and we should get their ASAP. So I pass the message on to my sister who tells my mam. Mam starts crying (never seen her cry before; shocking aint it to see a parent cry) and we hot foot it off to Manchester. Anyway just as we get there, she is at death's door, completely delirious, needless to say I am completely shocked but no one else appears to be. And just before she dies she, she says 'Ernie, Alison (her daughter) where are you' Then she tells them that she loves them and then she dies! What is this moment of clarity people get just before the die? My Aunty Nellie had it too, I was there for that too but she said 'I don't care if I live or die'. Anyway I went mad at my mam for not telling me cause if I had known I would have gone to see her more often.
Aww LenMy parents did the same when my gran died - they didn't tell me she'd been taken into hospital because I was in the middle of my exams at Uni - know they were trying to protect me but I'd have given anything to see her one last time.
One of my friends was diagnosed with leukemia about three years ago, and she is doing brilliantly well, apparently some of the new drugs can do amazing things - obviously not a cure but they are managing to keep it really well at bay and she not only does her high-flying job but is always shooting about climbing hills and stuffDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
