Not sure about you but i'm sure your little girl will catch it, my daughter had it and gave it to my nephew after only spending a couple of hours together. Heard its quite bad in adults

I think it's very likely unfortunately. My eldest came down with chicken-pox 2 weeks and 2 days after the youngest one had.
As for you, you might escape it, my sister came into contact with chicken-pox on no end of occassions including me having it and never got it herself, till she was 19 and had no idea where she'd picked it up from, so you never know, but it's unlikley.0 -
I've heard its bad in adults, i'm 32, and dreading it, just wondering if anyone else has escaped it when they haven't had it and their children have?Hindsight is a wonderful thing0

My boy had it bad and the GP told me he would give me a fiver if, when I took him back a few days later (He had problems with it) his brother didnt have it.
His brother didnt catch it even though they were constantly climbing on each other, and the GP never paid up..lol.May £10 a day challenge£19.61/£310Ebay challenge...£12.61/£2000 -
A lot of people don't seem to realise that it is possible to catch chickenpox more than once - so even if you HAD already had it, you might get it again - sorry!:([0

Well, I've never had it - my hubbie got shingles and passed on chicken pox to my 3yr old last year (I was hoping he would get it, to get it over with). I thought I'd be next. But no, nothing despite nursing the pair of them for about a month. I've also been around kids at school with it and nothing. My GP says chances are that I may have had it in the past but so mildly I didn't notice, hence not getting it again.
Then again, if you can get it twice, I'd better be careful!!0 -

Can i just note,
Iv had the chicken pox but its worth while if you work or oh works you tell your work place incase there are pregnant women at your work place.
I work in a call centre and when someones child has chicken pox it goes on the board to make pregnant women aware that someones child has chicken pox as the collegue may be a carrier. although they may not get the chicken pox themself theres still a risk they are carrying it.
Just a though, (i dont mean to scare)0 -
My OH had chicken pox for the first time in his 30's, and was quite poorly with it. My 2 children had it when young, with little problem apart scratching and picking at the scabs, which have left a couple of little pock scars on each, like myself.
I remember my mother always telling me, that when my 3 siblings and I were young, mothers would take their kids round to neighbouring families if they knew chicken pox was around, to get them infected and over it whilst young, as children got through it much easier then adults!!
