Sky 2MB Base, now being charged for it!

Hi , I became a sky customer 18 months ago , i took the deal of sky talk FREE, sky broadband base 2mb FREE and the sky sports mix which was £34 at the time which i thought was a good deal as before i was paying £18 a month for jus bt broadband.

everything has been fine apart from the last couple of months a £17 charge for sky connect broadband has appeared on my bill , after about 5 phone calls i have now discovered that my flat cant get the sky broadband base (this is the first time i have ever been notified by sky about this) and that my original deal was only for 12 months, even though the 1st bill i recieved was 18 months into having sky, the lady on the phone told me that had been crediting it every month!!!!

after speaking to the manager they offered me sky connect for £5 a month but i refused , stating that i was never told at the time of taking out the contract that i could not broadband base.

what do people think i should do? demand the connect for free? take the £5 a month offer?

this has really annoyed, any comments would be appreciated :D

Sky Broadband base (2mbps 2Gb cap)will be £5/month from March if you don't take Sky Talk.
Connect is an up to 8mbps rebadged BT product with a 40 Gb download cap.
    You decide.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • you can have connect for £5/month, or go elsewhere and pay a lot more (maybe chack the samknows site..look for O2 in the LLU column as a decent alternative).

If it was me, I'd pay the fiver, there's a good chance you'll do far worse elsewhere
