I quite like Livingston - it has a large Mcarthur Glen outlet mall and a big mall with all the high street shops. and its indoors which is always a bonus in scotland!

Agree, livingston is good for shopping. Also like Glasgow, alot of shops there that Edinburgh doesnt have.
  • Blackburn is good.
Home of Europe's first indoor shopping mall.
    Market days are the best.
Plus there is council enforced racial segregation in all public places.
  • Livingston is always usually a good bet. I also like Glasgow as there are so many different places to go, as well as the city centre you have Braehead, The Fort, The Forge and Silverburn (which I haven't been to yet...) East Kilbride is good but you have to pay for parking, apart from Thursdays after 4pm and Sundays when it is free.
I think we are quite spoilt living near Glasgow!!

I have the fortune of driving all over with work, and if in a new town love to take my lunch hour to nose around the shops. Living in central london most "bargain" shopping is a bit of a trek, so love the opportunity to get out into real towns.

I quite like norwich as well, although I do find parking a bit of a pain.
Brighton is perfect for all sorts of shopping, and the lanes are fabulous with all sorts of choice of shops/ eateries. Some bargains ( poundland/ 99ps etc)

Northampton swings it for me though with a TKmaxx next to home bargains and a great town centre in and cheap ( ish) parking!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • i always liked goin shopping in liverpool. Used to love going in a shop called Wade Smiths which was like a 5 storey Sports store and had a great selection of stuff. Sadly i think they have closed down now.
  • Plus there is council enforced racial segregation in all public places.

Liverpool is now a great place to shop. Liverpool One because it is part of the city and with real streets but modern links the new with existing shops giving great variety and not being as totally antiseptic as a shopping centre which no matter how good they are just gives bland chain stores. Here there is the existing fabric of pubs, cafes and independent stores tied together with the new. Really good.
Couldn't agree more. The fact that its not enclosed really makes a big difference and keeps that buzzy atmosphere that liverpool centre always seems to have.
Although i hope they find some tenants soon for the empty units on Church St.

    i like kings lynn...

i only live a few miles away from lynn and have to say since they spent money on it a year or so ago it looks fantastic and a pleasure to shop in... sadly now though with the credit crunch i am noticing more and more shops closing down which could easily make it look messy again

Calais, before the Pound sunk so low. If the weather's nice, it's a great day trip and you combine shopping with a nice lunch in town or a picnic on the cliffs overlooking the Channel...
