Liverpool is now a great place to shop. Liverpool One because it is part of the city and with real streets but modern links the new with existing shops giving great variety and not being as totally antiseptic as a shopping centre which no matter how good they are just gives bland chain stores. Here there is the existing fabric of pubs, cafes and independent stores tied together with the new. Really good.My home town of Bristol has a great choice in several distinct areas.
Liverpool has greatly improved thanks to the opening of Liverpool 1,no need to go to Manchester now.0 -
Skipton in North Yorkshire recently voted Britain's best High Street, great small market town with a castle ,lovely walks ,and the canal ,all within the town.0

How about Cambridge? There's 2 re-developed shopping areas in the town now. Also, there's the grafton with more 'high street' shops. (Debenhams, BHS, Next etc)0

I love Norwich,it has a good mixture of shops and as I only live 15 minutes away,I go there twice a week.0

for east anglia Norwich is probably the best, I used to go to cambridge but it's not great cos it's so spread out. Ipswich has a fairly good selection of shops but it looks like a chav-filled dump (no offence to anyone who lives there)
If you are near them Bluewater/Lakeside have pretty much every big name shop you would want but be prepared to tramp around all day - they are massive!Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
I live in Gloucestershire and love shopping in Birmingham and Cardiff.
However for something different the farmers market in Stroud on a Saturday is lovely, sadly the rest of the town is suffering in the credit crunch but there are a couple of nice unusual shops.Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
These days it would have to be Sheffield.
It is not too far away, has largely everything most people would need, and has a quiet/peaceful demeanour about it that places like London & Manchester don't have.
In other words, you can shop without forever worrying what's around you.
Chester is a lovely place to shop albeit over an hour away.0 -
Cardiff rates highly for me. As does Southampton.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
For big city shopping I like Cardiff, as it has a mix of chains and independents like Norwich ( I went to uni there).
I am quite fond of Monmouth too, some interesting small shops and you can petty much get what you need without walking miles! ( but don't tell my DD - she mocks me for seldom moving further than 5 miles from home!)0
