Buying Glasses Advice

The glasses are for every day wear since I can only see up to 1ft away from my face without blur. Also I've had these glasses for a couple of years although I didn't wear them very much at first because of the headaches they gave me. I wear them a lot more now but still feel as if I have eye strain after a few hours. I have been back to the opticians early this year but the said the headaches must be pregnancy related even though I told them they had been happening for a couple of years since having these glasses. They just refused to listen to me it seemed. Since the glasses are a couple of years old I can't really take them back now, I think it's been too long, but according to them my perscription hasn't changed so they wont offer me any vouchers for new glasses.:heartpulsスイートピーお母さん。:heartpuls0

If you get your eye test free from the NHS you are entitled to a new one every 2 years. If they won't listen to you then I would find a new optitian... And you are also entitled to a printed copy of your prescription, you should definately ask them for this.A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Unfortunately, pregnancy doesn't qualify you for a NHS eye exam. Your previous opticians are obliged to give you a copy of your prescription, but they are entitled to charge for the privilege, which some will do.
Just get your eyes tested and see your GP if you don't sort the headaches out from that.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

I'm in a bit of a bind and I was hoping I could get some advice. My daughter broke the leg (Arm?) off my glasses this morning but I can't afford to buy a new pair. My prescription is quite high (apparently) and I can't do much without them. Does anyone have any advice as to what I can do to get a new pair? I don't get paid for another two weeks, so I'm going to have to wait until then anyway and they are kinda staying on my face, just about.
Any advice appreciated
Thanks

if you take them back to the opticians they might be able to replace the arm for a small fee..I sat on my glasses last summer, took them in and the girl ordered a new arm for them and replaced it for about £10, which was really good as the glasses and prescription lenses had cost me over £300. HTHIts not how far you fall but how high you bounce back that matters

www.nfr.co.uk/en/spectacles-repair will do more serious repairs and replace bits on a mail order basis. For example I had my son's frame re-welded for £15 which lasted another year. The opticians use this company too, adding a 150% markup.0

My daughter broke the arm off a pair of my glasses a couple of years ago, I popped into Boots (hadn't even bought the glasses from there, just happened to be passing) and although they couldn't fix the hinge bit completely they put a new screw in that held them all together better... They lasted me a good 12 months until my eye test was due... Currently have a pair of prescription sunglasses the screw has disapeared from I plan to take in... Although there is less urgency for this at the moment...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Don't forget that most pound shops stock a little glasses repair kit comprising tiny screwdrivers and spare screws for about... er... a £1.0
