Times newspaper

For those who have children, you can get onto the Times web site, and they will send you a 40p coupon for student readership.

Have to search for it a bit though, but it is there..

yep, this is the case for all University student union orientated shops. Its part of a thing called the NUSSL aggreement which allows unions to sell at below the RRPs. The same applies with drink in student bars. If the university is signed up to the nussl deal then thats generally why their drink is cheaper than rival outlets that aren't uni owned/orientated.

In most student shops - whether you're a student or not, you can go in buy the papers such as the Independent and the Times for 20p or 25p. This isnt usually advertised (well not at my uni anyway) so hence why few people are aware of it! It also tends to run all year round, as I was able to go in the summer and still pick up the times for 20p (however I get a free paper each day now as Im a student union exec member! :) )
