I ordered a apple I pod through argos on the 28th nov and it should have arrived on dec 1st.
I have just called argos to find out where it is, they have said it had been delivered and signed for
I told them to check my addy as I did change my address on line when ordering and sure enough they sent it to my old address Im so angry as the people at my old addy damm well know I dont live there anymore obviously!!
Argos have said its there fault and will investigate plus send a driver round there to re claim the i pod, but what if the people claim they never signed for it?? or they simply dont get it back.
Im just worried that I will end up paying 200 pounds for someone else having my goods.
Argos said they will call me tomorrow, I suggested calling the police but they said they have there ways of investigating this.

Good Luck Ella, Hope they sort it for you.0

...don't worry about this!!
They are entirely at fault as they have delivered to the wrong address. They have admitted this to you. You have not signed for the goods. Insist that they deliver the goods that you have paid for, immediately to your "new" address. It is irrelevant whether or not they are able to recover the one delivered incorrectly. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0 -
Thanks so much for your reply's If and when they call tomorrow I will insist they send one out straight away as I want to get this wrapped up and out the way asap.0

Yes, dont let them fob you off with waiting to get the other one back, That is none of your business and you do not want to know anything about it. A gesture of goodwill from them would not go amiss to make up for late delivery and messing you about*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
If I don't reply to you, I haven't looked back at the thread.....PM me0 -
Definitely tell them you want another one sent ASAP.
It's up to them to sort out reclaiming the other one...0 -
Ive just tried calling argos after waiting half the day for them to call me only to be told they in there c/service department can do no more and I HAVE to wait for a call fron recovery dep >:(
Blimey will this ever get sorted, I even lied saying the I pod was for a bday present and I needed it for thursday in the hope they would send another to me BUT NO!!0 -
Hi Ella
I would suggest you make a quick phone call to your local Citizens Advice office.
They can tell you exactly what your rights are so that you can phone Argos back loaded with the info and get the result you need.
Dont put up with it - it's Argos' fault, they've admitted they made a c*ck up with the addresses so it's up to them to sort that bit out in their own time and you should have a replacement on its way.
Go girl! ;D0 -
Well I called argos again and spoke to a nice chap who said that they are doing a full investigation, when I questioned the fact that I have already had the money taken from my credit card he then went and spoke to his manager.
The reply I had back was that because the item is worth over 200 pounds they cannot send me out a new I pod or give me a refund until they have fully investigated the matter, he also kept telling me not to worry >:( easy for him to say.
I asked if indeed I would even get a call back from there recovery department and he told me to KEEP CALLING THEM after the 7 days were up so Im no further forward.
There is a twist in the tale though, my dad knows the man who bought my old house as its not too far from where I am now but my dad also said that this man is a tealeaf and there is no way he will still have MY parcel and has more than likely sold it on, I have told argos this and they said that I really cant pin this on the man as it could have gone to a neighbours house >:( >:(
What now!!!!0 -
...sounds like this could drag out and that they are being totally inflexible. If time is really important to you (you need for Christmas??), I would tell Argos to cancel the order and again demand a full, immediate refund. Put this in writing to them. Also, as mentioned in my earlier post, tell your credit card company that your goods have not been delivered as contracted for, that you have cancelled the order and you require a refund. Then purchase elsewhere.
I would definitely not get involved in anything to do with the old address and say nothing about the new owner and his character . This is irrelevant in terms of your dispute with Argos and saying anything about him could possibly be used against you later.
I'm afraid that whatever you do, it sounds like it's going to take a bit of time to resolve.
