where can I download it?

google came up with several results - before downloading from one of them thought I'll check with someone who might know of a reliable site

every time I download something, my laptop seems to slow down

no. I don't have office suite because my office CD doesn't run on my disk drive

the online office has slowed my laptop in the past and so I intend to be careful about these sort of things

so essentially I'd like just the garamond font - anyone trust any site in particular?

thanks I cannot find the font I'm looking for though

I wonder if it's not installed properly because all these fonts appear to me in my fonts folder but some are clearly not working for me.

There are several versions of Garamond, there is often a free one installed with windows, just called Garamond.

However there are 2-3 good commercial ones, which are far more professional in their design, but you won't find these free anyway - like software, fonts are licensed and must be purchased. So copying from one to another isn't legal!

Adobe Garamond and ITC Garamond are two, and Linotype also have a version.

It's one of my favourite fonts, I've been publishing material using it as body text since the early 1990s.

I can find the font in my folder actually - it appears like it is not being installed.

I wanted to use garamond for my signature and it is not working - that's the problem. I don't know if it is this site's problem or if it is my laptop's. My signature appears to me as defaut font - verdana. All other fonts seem to be working.

aaah.. you're wanting to use garamond for your signature here.. i doubt that will work

if you're trying to use a font for the internet, there are only so many standard fonts for the net..

whether the font is on your computer doesn't matter, garamond isn't what I class as a standard web font

if it is an email signature, and you're using something LOCAL to your computer, it should appear.
