Orange and the VAT cut

I received an email from Orange back in December saying they'd be passing on the savings from the VAT rate cut in January and I wouldn't have to do a thing because they'd sort it out automatically.
However, I've been billed last year's rate for my latest bill which is for mid January to mid February. I'll call them in the morning, but I was wondering if anyone else had had the same thing?

Are you sure? If you're reading page 2 of the bill, remember that price is before VAT, so won't have changed.
For example, if it says:
Dolphin 15 - £12.77
then that would've made £15 before, but will now be £14.80ish after new VAT.
To check, add up all the prices on the "here's what you've spent" section on page 2, then multiply it by 1.15. That should make the final figure you've been charged.0 -
Since this is the Internet Access board I figured it went without saying that this was for my internet and not phone?
Anyway, I called this morning and got a very bad line to a girl in India who informed me they were having technical problems with applying the VAT change and it would now apply from February instead. When I asked if they'd be backdating the reduction to January (when they said it woudl start, though really it should have started from the 1st of December) she said no, but they'd be donating the amount of the VAT reduction to Unicef on my behalf. She didn't seem to appreciate why I had an issue with them sending out misleading emails and not notifying me of changes (oh, but she said her IVR system told me they were still working on it - but why should I have to call to speak to them to be told) or also why i didn't appreciate them donating my money to charity on my behalf. The line was so bad that I couldn't really take things any further so I'll be writing to complain instead.0
