Can't unlock mobile because of faulty chip?
I've left my mobile (SE K800i currently on 3) with a local shop to unlock - they said leave it with them for an hour, no problems......
When I went to pick it up, they said they hadn't been able to unlock it because there was 'insufficient power to one of the chips, this chip wouldn't affect normal operation but was preventing them unlocking it, but they would supply and fit a new chip to enable them to carry out the unlocking, at no extra charge.......' He showed me the phone with a brown (not blue) error screen (can't remember the message, sorry).
Is this feasible?

sounds like a load of rubbish to me unless SE redesigned the phone internals slightly0

He asked if I'd dropped the phone (silly question, don't all mobiles get dropped at some point?). It's always worked fine, just had a minor blip of not always turning back on when you first press the power button, but that's all. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
