How far north is Up North?
I know that there are grants available for the purhace and installation of automated woodfuel systems (wood-chips or wood pellets) in my neck of the woods
see - http://www.est.org.uk/schri/household/grant.cfm
I also believe that the Forestry Commission have various schemes in different parts of the country to encouorage the use of woodfuel of different sorts.
Cheers

We live in Preston about 18 miles from Blackpool, I have looked at the above link but think that is too far North, Scotland I presume - but thank you anyway. I will give the FC a ring and pick their brains. A local Stove installer told me https://www.clearskies.co.uk were offering grants of £600-£1,500 towards the installation of the York stove, but at the moment this has been stopped and its only towards this particular stove and they couldnt say when or if the grant would be available again. Its like finding a needle in a haystack, grant money is their but its locating it phewie!!!! So I guess will keep on surfing about. Thanks Peat.
