Job hunting so hard right now!

I had an interview last friday for a shop job whilst I'm trying to get a tv job, and so I can get driving lessons to improve my chances of getting a tv job, but he was afraid I'd leave as soon as I get a better job (he saw my degree). I tried convincing him I wasn't looking for tv jobs at the minute, but he didn't call back!
Overqualified for shop work, under experienced for TV. I actually got a phone call today about a job, but because I couldn't drive, I couldn't do the job

Im looking for another job, been looking since september last year, ive had 2 interviews where i thought i had it in the bag then i get gazumped and trying to ask why i was gazumped is like getting blood from a stone, at times i cant believe that theres other people who are applying for the same jobs as me, must be at least 50/70 forms ive filled in and jobs applied for on jobsite, reed, fish4 and total jobs, it does get annoying when you dont get called for an interview(yes i know they cant interview everyone), i even thought id given myself a plus point by being prepared to travel about an hour and 20 mins to travel to work by car,0

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to start a thread to say how hard it is to find a job right now and to let those in a similar situation know that they are not alone.
I have been redundant since Nov 2008, and since then I must have applied for about 100 jobs, and had about 8 interviews.
Nothing is coming through for me.
I had something I was sure I would get and today I got a call saying "I thought you were wonderful and exactly what I was looking for, but my partner thought that the lady who came in last week had a bit more experience than you and would therefore take less time to train". Great. It wasn't even a job that I wanted, long hours, less money, but I needed it none the less.
It's so hard to know where to turn right now.
Yesterday I met with a photographer, the first step in me opening my own business offering admin and secretarial support from home, and the meeting went amazingly well. But whilst it is my first client, and a very good one at that, it's not a full time wage and will be comission only.
I just get fed up with applying because I feel that everyone will knock me back! So so hard for all us jobseekers right now - less jobs, more amazing candidiates!
Good luck to you all!

Hi,
I'm sort of in the same boat. I finished uni in October, and ever since I've been unemployed. I've applied for plenty and had a few interviews, but I never get the job.
I just found out that I didn't get a job I was interviewed for yesterday and it's starting to get a bit depressing.
I can't wait to get back into work but it's so hard.
All we can do at the moment is stick in there. At least there are responses from companies offering interviews so it's not a complete lost cause.
xLooking forward to the future.0 -
I wish you all the best of luck
