Basically I have a life insurance through LV, taken through Asda services from a leaflet picked up in store.

Historically, insurance, pensions and investments bought via supermarkets have been poor value and cut down versions of the main retail product. Best avoided.
Now this guy has emailed me, seems to know my current policy details, asking why I took it out for the value I did and asking me some other questions.

Your details are not in the public domain. Have you by any chance used a quote comparison site? Many of these sell your details.
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.

LifeSearch are an IFA who offer advice for ASDA customers via the ASDALife trading style. The rates they can obtain are the same as the rates any other commission generating IFA would obtain. I know, I used to work for them!!! :D

I'll only say good things about them. Their training is first rate, the company ethos is excellent (do unto others as you would have done unto yourself) and the service provided is top notch. Plus, it is an advisory service as has previously been mentioned.

I wonder if the client had originally taken a policy through LifeSearch, they have been around for about 12-years now and how many people remember which broker they used if a purchase was made online a few years ago?

LifeSearch certainly don't sell details on

I hadnt realised ASDA have moved to such a system. I was thinking back to the white label days.

  • Thanks for your help guys. I think it was ASDAlife before so maybe they are a subsidary company or that was a trading name from them when it was an Asda lead.

I do need some updated advise so will give them a try if as good as you say weighty1. Thanks.

I used them to set up an income protection policy about 7 years ago.

I originally used an independent broker who was recommended but as he was so pushy and annoying I dropped him and used Lifesearch.

Lifesearch actually found the same policy with the same cost and weren't pushy in their dealings.

Their staff realise people work so don't phone them up constantly during the day asking if they are going to take out the policy.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)
