Could'nt agree with you more. I lurked for a long time before posting and this thread has helped me to improve my credit no ends,it would be a shame if new members were discouraged from using visiting.

i've got really bad credit. I was thinking about a pre-paid card but just saw this thread and was interested to see if people reckon i might be able to get a proper card?

ive got 3 defaults, 2 from catalogeus and 1 from a mobile phone. Do these subprime cards take people with defaults? i'm 22 by the way.

    thanks

    Hi. You could try Vanquis.

    They take people with defaults.

How old are the Defaults and are they satisfied?

hi just reading the row that nearly started.
if you dont mind i would like to give my opinion.
ive lurked on the old thread and this one for a very long time.im not the most sociable person and my communication skills are far from good.
i have found the thread very helpfull at all times.
however as the thread has increased in popularity, it has,in my opinion, seemed to have less content of a factuall/helpfull basis, from the point of view of someone that doesnt follow it.
obviousley the help and advice is still on the thread.however i think to someone looking for advice and visiting for the first it may appear to be less accessible.remember it doesnt happen on here, but people regualy get there heads bitten off on this forum.
    extremely entertaining lurking though.
perhaps you should start a new thread for sub prime with mr p and nid working together to give what has always been great advice.
like i said though my communication skills are crap so perhaps thats the basis for my opinion.
It is a difficult one to call in my opinion.
Main reason being that although we don't know each other on a face to face level we are 'friends' bloody good friends really.
This thread and the preceding one has been invaluable to me, a year ago I didn't give 'credit ratings' much thought now it's very important to me to build the best file possible.
I joined as a newbie and received a good reception from everybody, helpful advice, banter and lots of laughs along the way.
Other areas of the board can be tricky but in my somewhat humble opinion nothing will top the sub primers.

Can only second Sutton's advice.. Vanquis are an excellent starting point. Are you on electoral roll with regular income?
