Wayne, if your problem is a fan, they cost about £125 new or can be bought for about £40 reconditioned on ebay.
You will need someone competent to fit it.
And of course there is always the possibility that it is not the fan but something else that is faulty.
Good luck.0 -

I am 99% certain that the red pipe is a safety device and is essential for the safe operating of your boiler.
Pinching the red pipe is overriding the safety device and messing around with it is really not advisable.
Potterton didn't put it there just to look pretty.0 -

I have just ordered a reconditioned fan for £47 delivered from a well established firm in Wembley. My electrician friend will help me fit it. I expect my boiler to be fine when that is done and give me a few more years service.
A new fan would have cost me about £115.
A Corgi man will probably be able to repair your boiler for far less than the cost of buying and fitting a new boiler.
Call a reputable local firm, preferably one that does not charge for call outs, and find out what it will cost to repair.0 -
Why would you expect someone qualified to work on the boiler to come out and diagnose the problem for nothing?
They do it in anticipation of getting the job of repairing or replacing the boiler.
Some firms charge for a callout and may or may not offset the charge against a repair bill.
Some firms don’t charge for a call out. They win some and they lose some but perhaps they get more business overall.
I know which ones I would use.0 -
Ah, I see. A company comes out to diagnose the problem for free in anticipation of getting the job of fixing the boiler and the huge riches that this will bring.
But, oh no, the customer has a mate who is an electrican who is perfectly happy to fit the faulty parts diagnosed for free by the poor sod who came out for nothing.
I also know people who work for nothing. Usually they work for charities, but I'll bet that you don't do you?0 -
Are the posters on this thread for real?????? Is this thread real?????
"My good electrician friend" Obviously not a very good friend for not telling you to get a corgi guy and putting your life in danger!
