Hi everyone - just signed on to update spends this week as my new Budget started yesterday, off to a good start, have written out an Inventory of both Freezers and meal planned up to around the 17th of Feb so feel good for this month's target.;)
Dinner tonight is Pork & Apple casserole, steamed potatoes, carrots and green beans - been using the Steamer a lot more since DD1 gave me a lecture on the benefits of Steaming as opposed to Boiling (she learnt this a couple of weeks ago in Food Tech at School!!):o
Have a good evening everyone.:D

Hi. Can you please put me in for £350.00 this month.
Not quite finished Jan yet, but will be in budget for a change.
We still have quite a lot of food in so have slightly reduced budget for Feb. Considering starting buying meat from the butchers although I am a little concerned about the cost.
Our local does not have any close competition so I think he keeps the prices high, also, when we ask for items they always seem to weigh over so sneakily get more money from us. Last time we bought a joint of beef, asked for £7 sized joint, three different pieces were cut all cost £9 or over so we gave in and bought a bigger one, surely an experienced butcher can get it closer.0 -
Can I please join in again with £200.
Been AWOL for a while, due to other commitments, but trying to go back on track!
MrsM, shame we didn't manage to meet up over xmas/ new year.

Still have some reduced cabinet dinners in the freezer from Jan budget so first shopping was just to buy some low cal alternatives of mayo, marg, cheese, milk and bread, cadbury highlights drinking chocolate etc as I am officially on a diet.My low cal shop was £6.50 and OH spent £20 on stuff for lunches at work, another £8.57 for dog food and bread and we have already made an big dent in febs budget.
Still shopping from the reduced cabinets,I buy very few full price items at all now."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
Hi MrsM
Could you put me down for £112.49 please. I know, I know, odd pennies, but my January total was £117.49 and I want to bring it down by a round £5.
Doing meal plans and composing shopping list this evening getting ready for the BIG shop on Sunday."carpe that diem"0 -
Mrs Mc, please put me down for £450 for Feb. I'm increasing it this month as £400 was tight for jan after losing quite a lot of meat from a freezer which defrosted itself! I now need to stock back up on meat again! Also, we have friends round for dinner at least once, maybe twice - and they'll be quite 'fancy' dinners (although still cheaper than going out
) AND we've got builders in for 6 weeks - meaning tea/ sugar/ milk is being consumed at an alarming rate!!
:rotfl:
Haven't declared for Jan yet, although it's getting tight, as can be seen in my sig! I expect I'll need yet more milk before month end though, so will wait to declare
