Love to join, thought I'd start start with a target of £200 for the short month. Three of us, me being the smallest eater.
Pretty much stocked up on biggies like washing powder, toilet rolls etc. I sometimes lack motivation on challenges, but love food and cooking, just a busy life gets in the way sometimes.DC.

I find the taste of longlife a bit strong but #I do always keep a few litres in the cupboard. I always make yoghurts with it-I buy the fullfat one. I also sometime go half and half when Im running low on fresh milk and I also dilute it a little. I buy dried milk too as this is a great way to make your own instant custard in the micro.
I had a night out last night with workmates but inc the meal it was all of £4.30! Very frugal. We were all given a fiver from our social fund at work and the pub meals were 2 for £8 so that left me a £1. 2 mates bought me a drink-I bought last drinks for £5 .30 so with my previous £1 change only spent £4.30.
Im now hopefully going to pictures on bogof with dd if I can get her up then going to pizza italia with £10 off meal.
To think a few years ago I knew nothing of these things! No wonder I didnt have a life. Moneysaving has given me so much more and I go out a lot more too now and yet total I still spend a lot less so for all the new guys-keep at it! You will not regret it! If anyone thinks you need to "get a life"-that is exactly what you will be doing.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

January was indeed a learning experience! It was also a 6 week month for us. After looking at receipts, I think I may be able to do this. Our February is from 30/01/2009 to 27/02/2009.
:AMRSMCAWBER:A - Please put me down for £130 for Feb.
Thanks!

Feb. My budget is £80 not including social drinks. I managed to do ok last month until last night when I spent £23.50 on a mate to cheer her up, but was worth it I feel
Gone through my food for Feb:
Enough weetabix and oat cereals to last the months breakfasts!
1 chicken stock with meat
1 frozen chicken soup
2 frozen chicken chickpea curry
2 frozen cooked veg
EDIT: 5 very healthy portions with a lot lot of meatgoing to have veg and gravy with this yum yum. 1 massive steak and kidney pie (I made it, so proud!!) need to put into frozen pie portions
Also have tin of chickpeas, left over puff pastry, 12+ eggs (I bought 2 dozen? I think, free range for £2 in ASDA, I was really pleased with this, they’re varying sizes and it says on the packet they get to go outside during the day so I’m hoping they’re happier chickens then the one on that recent tv show) , flour, sugar etc I want to do something with….
Decided I need fruit for the week and veg to go with the above meals so I should have enough for my lunches and some dinners for the next week. And have also decided to cook carrot cake later in the week as well as picking 4 meals to experiment with. My shopping list is as follows:
polenta, 3 onions, garlic lots, 1 small young marrow, tomato puree, cheese, single cream, tahini, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, paprika, cinnamon, fresh parsley, 150g walnuts, 115g smoked bacon or pancetta, 2 frying chorizos
I would like to get a few other staples to make the exciting meals spread out further but have limited freezer space!
Feel I'll be going over budget this month but I guess that's the price I'll pay for learning how to cookoff to the market now to get my fruit and veg and I also got a free box from graze.com (found the site on MSE, also got 40pigback points) so excited to pick that up from my mums to see what it's like. I cancelled the order after the first free one

I'm going to join the Feb grocery challenge. Our shopping came a couple of days ago but i've been away so none of it has been used apart from some of the pop. So i'm going to count that as my main Feb shop. That was around £60 but i'm going to set a budget of £100 - I didn't get any fresh veg/fruit so need some money for that and for fresh milk/bread. This budget doesn't include take aways or eating out but i'm hoping we wont actually be doing any of that this month. Going to go and sort out a meal plan for the month now
So my budget for Feb is £100
Thanks xx
 Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Just popping in to up date the first spends of the month...
£1.65 on mushrooms and 4 big jacket spuds from the veg shop
£2.00 on eggs and bread from the Spar
Total = £3.65
OH decided that he wanted a big cooked brekkie before going out to the football with the boys for the afternoon/evening (Hmmmm:rolleyes: ) so used up the sausages in the freezer, bacon in the fridge and tins from the cupboard so it didin't cost that much.
Was going to leave the Mr T shop until tomorrow but it feels weird not shopping on a Saturday for me and I'm in tonight with the dog and the telly so fancied a little treat to keep me company - will pop out to Tescos in a minute I think.:p
Have written a list so let's see how well I do!
Good luck to everyone else0
