Easy Jet - Speedy boarding?

Has anyone paid extra for this when using Luton (or Stansted) & Palma (Majorca). Was it worth it and did you get to board the plane first??
Our past experiences with Easy Jet have been stressful to say the least. We hate the crush at the gate and the sprint to the plane (especially as we've got children aged under 10).
Last time we flew with them we arrived at the designated gate at Palma, formed an orderly queue (we arrived in good time and were near the front) and then the gate was changed. I've never seen such a stampeed to the new gate! The end result was a huge crush with people pushing and shoving to get on first.
If you've paid for speedy boarding in the past - has it worked for you? Did it alleviate some of the stress??
We have got flights with Monarch at the moment and were happy with them (as we could pre book seats) but they have cancelled our return flight and put us on a flight home 36 hours later!!! Our accom is full so we can't extend. First Choice and Thomsons would cost us about £400 more so takes us over budget.
I love Majorca but getting a decent flight there is a pain!

I can understand wanting to book a seat long haul but Majorca is 10 minutes down the road. Who cares where you sit?0

If I was travelling alone or just with my partner, then I wouldn't care where I sit. As we have two children we want to be seated as least close to each other. Whether that is at the front or back of the plane, I don't care.
I'll do a search for other threads.0 -

Dont those with young kids get on first anyway?0 -
We booked it from Gatwick to Split. Gatwick did not have the promised separate speedy boarding check-ins desks, but we did board first which was useful.
In Split they just totally ignored it and boarded whoever pushed to the front first

I would not bother, when you get on the plane usually it is all single travellers who have rushed to the front and got 1 seat by the window leaving you 2 seats for you and 1 child.0

I've been on an Easyjet plane a couple of times when parents with children have boarded at the last minute and there were only odd places left. People have always offered to move so that the parent and child can sit together (or, rather, so that they don't have to sit next to a lone child!).3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000

Speedy Boarders (and me, who just runs fast to overtake as many people as possible) are not usually competing with families for the same seats. I want to be first on the plane to maximise my chances of getting an exit row seat i.e. more leg room. Children aren't allowed to sit here so no problems. To be honest though, as long as you're in the first 50% on the plane, you'll usually get a row, and unless you're right at the back, you should get at least 2 seats together.0

depends on how young the children are, but ours (2 and 5) always get us on the plane first, alongside the speedy boarding passengers.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0

I considered buying speedy boarding on a recent flight, so that my wife and I had a good chance of sitting together. But being the tight wad that I was, I didn't actually mind sitting on my own if it meant saving a few bob (my wifes views being a bit different!).
Anyway, it was at an airport where we had to board a bus first. I watched as the speedy boarded got their own queue and boarded the bus first. We followed and as luck would have it, my wife and I were last to get on, so we were stood right by the doors. The speedy boarders bagged the seats on the bus and were seated comfortably.
Luck would have it again, were the doors on my side faced the plane and we were the first to get off the bus and first on the plane. Some of the speedy boarders where last of the bus.
At that point, I think they realized just what a waste of money the speedy board pass was on that occasion!!0
