Phone insurance

My daughter bought a payg phone from the Orange shop and when she said she wanted to insure it, was told nobody in the shop knew how to do it. Seems funny as I always thought insurance was a good little earner for them. Anyway, would it be better to contact the shop, Orange directly or can insurance be bought elsewhere?

It's called Orange Care and it will cost £50 per annum. There is a £15 administration charge for each claim made. Call Orange on 450 to get it set up.

Yes, some household insurance policies will cover mobile phones. However, there will normally be an excess which you would have to pay. Also, you can expect a hike in your renewal premium, if you should make a claim. These things taken together would probably not make it worthwhile to use your household insurance.

Yeah true actually Steve

I am surprised that they couldn't do the insurance for your daughter - but as individuals they probabaly needed to be authorised and were not.
