in Credit cards
Hi
Are there any cards out there that do not charge a fee for balance transfers. I have just been accepted for a Lloyds credit card with 9 months interest free but they will charge me 2% ( about £62) to transfer the balance.
Any advice would be appreciated.

When did you apply for the LTSB card? If you applied before they introduced the BT fee (last Friday I believe), then argue (politely!) for the fee to be waived.slider wrote:Hi

If you applied since last Friday then, if you want to risk another credit search, click the 'Balance Transfers' link in the blue box above your first post. There's a link within that article to a 'no-fees' list*.

Thanks for that. I applied about 2-3 weeks ago and was not aware that there was a charge for BTs. Obviously I am reluctant to apply for other cards only to find that they also charge 2% of the balance to transfer. I have been tarting for a number of years now and do not remember ever being charged for transferring a balance. If as you say this charge was only introduced on Friday I will give them a call.£2 coins saved so far 0. really hope I get 1 tomorrow0 -
I can't say for sure if they made the change last Friday, but these things don't stay quiet for long! First mentioned in this post...slider wrote:If as you say this charge was only introduced on Friday I will give them a call.

I applied about 10 days ago after phoning to confirm no fees. Said as long as I BTd within 6 weeks of account opening, there is no fee.
Not got the card yet, but I will push for fee free based on my phone call.0 -
Hi all
Phoned Lloyds today and was informed that providing I make the BT within 6 weeks of opening account there is no charge. Any subsequent BTs after the 6 weeks will incur 2% charge. Good result really. Saved over £60.£2 coins saved so far 0. really hope I get 1 tomorrow0
