How old is your handset?

Options
So whats the length of time you hold onto your handset without upgrading it?

For me, currently going into year 3, handset hasn't given me any problems so no need to upgrade just yet.

Mine must class as antique now. Siemens C35i and I have probably had it for six years. All I use it for is to send the odd text and phone to say on my way or whatever. Is that a record? I would really love one of those ones that have the old telephone receiver, but unfortunately they don't have the right connection for my phone and I am not willing to change it just for that.

My husband is still using my first ever handset - a motorola 3788 on Orange - Jan 2000 vintage - He is on his 3rd new battery and has no plans to change his phone.
  • If your on a contract you are usually entitled to a new phone every year, if your happy with your phone most companies will reduce your line rental instead. It is certainly worth taking advantage of these offers as you can save on line rental or sell the upgraded phone for a lump sum.

No contract but I have had my 8850 for a few years now but recently upgraded to an XDA. Its a bit large for everyday use so I bought a Siemens A62 aswell.

The 8850 is a great phone, so are some of the other phones mentioned like the 6310i.

I still love the classic nokias I might actually see if there are any good 8210s for sale I had one about 4 years ago before I got mugged for it.

Samsung SGH600 , still displays CELLNET as service provider, cost £35 as an upgrade in a BT store, must be 6years ago!
