Dual sim card adapter troubles
Hi all,
I ordered a dual sim card adapter from ebay & it came today. It's one that doesn't involve any cutting, you slide each sim card in & then put one in the slot & fold the other one over.
I have a vodafone & an orange sim card, & it seems to recognise the orange sim fine, but doesn't seem to know the vodafone one is plugged in. I have swapped them over into each others slots & it still only "sees" the orange one.
Any ideas? Thanks

I've had the larger dual-sim adapters before (the ones that replaced the back cover of your phone), and occasionally had the same problem. I managed to improve the contact between the metal prongs on the adapter by bending them a bit and cleaning the contacts on the SIM & adapter with isopropyl alcohol.
Of course, if the circuitry's gone, that ain't gonna work!0 -
It also sometimes depends on the phone - although they are advertised as working on most phones, some of the dual sim cards don't work with some pdas (as I found with my HTC Kaiser).

PS - Slightly nerve wracking experience cutting the sim card, isn't it ...?0 -
isn't it because the phone is linked to the network and therefore only recognises the orange sim?0

Yes Deano, you're probably right.
Perhaps the OP could test with two Orange sims to prove this point.0
