school summer holidays

Well I hate long school holidays. My kids are bored after 3 weeks. My LA does no free activities for my kids ages. Last year they produced a booklet so I booked my daughter down for some- one was riding it was £25 for the day, which I thought was quite good until after I picked her up she had riden for the sum total of 1/2 hr. I would have expected an hour to an hour and half riding mixed with some tution on grooming and perhaps half an hour of mucking out. They spent 2 hours mucking out! When I complained to teh LA they told me they hadn't vetted them. I was horrified as I had assumed that because they were in a council booklet (not an advert) they had had CRB's, health and safety et al.
My children have 41/2 year age difference so what one enjoys the otehr doesn't. Any tips on finding out if we do have lottery funded activities in my area as my council seem useless.0 -
We have 5½ weeks - they break up on Fri 22nd July and go back on 3rd September. That time will probably fly by, especially as we will (hopefully) be on holiday for 2 weeks.0

My eldest finishes 3rd July and go back 18th August.
I love school holidays! No alarms, no rushing and yelling getting ready to leave, being able to snuggle up with DS1 when DS2 is having his nap, day tips here and there and most of all NO CLOCK WATCHING!!!
I do hate how it mucks up our usual routine, esp as DS2 is only 17 months so still needs feeding and sleeping at regular times so that curtails us a little and if hes knocked out of routine much we pay for it the next day!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -
Ours is 6.5 weeks but if I remember correctly, kids have to do a certain amount of days so may lose holiday somewhere else.0

In NI we have 81/2 weeks this year but I am also due bump in June, so not only will I have a bored 6 year old to contend with, I will have a newborn to look after too !!!
Coming to think of it, I didnt time this 2nd baby thing very well did I???:rotfl:
As for our local council, there are a few free things to do, but most of the days they arrange are £25 per course and they are only for a very limited number of kids, so last year I queued from 5 in the morning on the day of registration to get 2 of the 3 things DD had picked and when I got to the front of the queue, I could only get her on one of them as they were already booked up !!!!!
Looks like I will be standing in the queue from 4am this year !!!:eek:The two best things I have done with my life

Actually looking at your other posts i would suggest using your time to work off your anger towards, British, the UK, single parents (apparently we are all chavs) you really do have issues, Perhaps going back to your own country may suit you, seeing as you hate us that much
I already am in 'my own country'.
Don't you have anything better to say than small-minded xenophobia? From Poland...with love.

PSB Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
If you cannot do this then perhaps its time you were reported, perhaps MSE isn't the forum that you should be a member of, looking at your previous posts you have criticised posters, belittled them, and been extremely racist about anyone.
You are acting like a troll, if you feel you are not then please stick to the rules,
here is a copy of the rules for you to read. http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/faq.html?faq=new_faq_item#faq_new_rules
If you don't like what a poster has said then perhaps refrain from posting. You will not make friends on here with your attitude.
OP my apologies for hijacking your thread, hope you get your childcare sorted soon

Excuse me?
You're the one that told me to 'go back to your own country' - and now you're telling me to be nice? As for racism - darling, when did I ever post anything of a racist nature? In fact, I'd say telling someone to 'go home' is far more racist than anything I've ever posted. From Poland...with love.
