DPA allows covert monitoring to detect reasonably suspected criminal activity so no need to inform the subjects (in fact it could well be that informing them would defeat the point of the monitoring)
If the boss has a reasonable suspicion of criminal activity by staff then he can covertly film and record, if he’s just nosey then he’s on dodgy ground0 -
