is Nokia 6101 pay-as-you-go already unlocked, or request for help unlocking

Hi :-)

I'm not sure if the T-mobile Pay-as-you-go Nokia 6101 I bought is already unlocked. (Read on the easymobile site that often it's monthly packages that contain locked handsets.) Can I ask how to unlock anyway, as if it is already unlocked, it'll come up with a message if I try to unlock it?

try a different sim card (other than tmob or 3) to see if its unlocked
if it is locked post your info in the sticky at the top

It almost certainly be locked, it's normally contract phones that are unlocked, as they are guaranteed to get your money, where as they are not with pay as you go.

Many thanks for responses.

Tried to do a search and go through all threads, but couldn't find a T-mobile 6101 payg one. So many threads etc! (Looking now ... lots different numbers, unsure which to use.) I've managed to find a code (#pw+835 251 655 344 366 +7#). I've tried it once with the SIM out, and a message came up 'emergency calls only'. Just wondering if that sounds like it's unlocked?

not sure what that message is, Drahcir or I can do the code to unlock it for you

to unlock, each phone needs a different code. easiest way to know if it is unlocked is to put another sim in from a different network. Don't eneter random codes you only get 5 chances to unlock, as for help in the skicky at the top

all phones will allow emergency calls, whether you can make normal phone calls or not

you can pm imei/network and model or post it in the sticky for the correct code
the emer call only is because you are not putting the (incorrect) code in correctly. you need to use the * key to get the PW+ symbols

phone model: nokia 6101
network: tmobile usa (tmobile to go if that matters)

we are a UK forum and only know the settings for UK phones
