Carphone Warehouse Price Promise

I just ordered a SE c905 on a 18th month contract for £30 with o2 from carphone warehouse. Now if I now go on mobiles.co.uk, there is the same offer but the first 4 months are free (cashback). go on mobiles.co.uk and the phone is on main page for you to see

Now I understand cpw do a price promise - see link

So where do I stand with them, in terms of getting them to price match mobiles.co.uk...all help is muchly appreciated and will be thanked ;)

    can you cancel

    thats high str OR
We also match genuine prices offered through UK based online retailers or telephone retailers which are not part of the Carphone Warehouse Group up to a maximum of £50. This is what we call our Price Promise.

    .......

Mobiles.co.uk is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Carphone Warehouse Group.

anyways I'm told many of the C905's have a problem with earpiece speaker

Their promise is absolutely worthless. Onestopphoneshop (now E2Save, also cpw) boasts "we won't be beaten". It's utter rubbish. They even had the total dishonesty last year to steal a competitor's t&c word for word and call them "price-match" t&c - which actually matched nothing but an extremely bad service. This company lies left right and centre. Play them but don't expect them to stick to their own rules.
  • ok what about dialaphone then...they are offering £120 cashback deal...would cpw match that in some sort of form.

Why not go with a decent company offering an better deal? dialaphone is part of Phones4u and for the last 15 months their other site (Mobiles2yourdoor) has been excellent (the complete opposite of cpw).

They wont price match as its part of the same company, i tried to get them to match the deal at the time on the 8mp samsung hoping i could go and collect it but when i mentioned it was with mobiles.co.uk they said no.

They don't price match on ANY company unless the deal is rubbish anyway. Their definition of "promise" is simply say the reverse of what you actually do if it sounds good.
  • Right so theyre lying regarding other companies who are not part of cpw?

    Anyways for c905 on o2 - £30*18=540

Whereas I have seen this deal on dialaphone for c905 with vodafone where its £40*12 months = £480 - £150 cashback = £330

I would ideally prefer 12 months - but would like to know whether dialaphone do unbranded phones and whether their cashback deals are genuine?

    Go to Mobiles2yourdoor.
  • mobilejunkie - mobiles2yourdoor couldnt offer the same package I recieved from dialaphone - 2yourdoor only provided £60 cashback - whereas dialaphone provide £150 huge difference - so 12 months with dialaphone c905 = £330. Whether they provide the cashback asap remains to be seen. Thanks though - ps I do like their customer service - dialaphones.

Read bad things about them recently but never used them since I only get myself totally free deals. Mobiles2yourdoor have those if you're not too fussed about the phone - and wouldn't have thought the model you're looking at is anything special. With any cashback deal though, you really need to know exactly what you're doing.
