I want a good smartphone with good battery life - am i asking too much!!!?
Hi all,
I am going to be reaching the end of my contract in a few months so have started looking around for a new phone- I currently have a Nokia N95 which I have to charge EVERY night otherwise it dies halfway through it's 2nd day....
I am looking at something like an iPhone, BB Storm, HTC Touch HD or Nokia 5800.... Does anyone know if any of these phones or a model similar to one of these has a decent battery life? My Gf has got the BB Storm and has to charge it every 1-2 days- I'd like something which lasted 2-3 days ideally but it doesn't seem that battery technology has improved along with the features of modern phones!
Also, any advice on phones regardless of battery life? I want something which is good for email, calendar/reminder features and ease of text input!
Regards,
John K

Yoy're right battery tech is way behind. 2 days is about right for a smartphone.
If you switch off the wifi, bluetooth and force it on to gms rather than 3g you'll get a bit more out of but not a lot. . .0 -
One thing I found out about the Storm or any other BB is always keep it in its RIM provided case when not in use. They contain a magnet which 'shuts down' the device as soon as it put back in which maximises battery life. The rubber skin the sell does do this. I am told this make a huge difference to the battery life.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

same with the iphone, my other half has one and it needs charging every 1-2 days. she is a light user, but its the big screen and wifi on these smartphones which zap all the power..
other similar phones not on ur list to consider would be: G1, nokia E71, SE X1
but i have read the G1 forums and the battery life is the most complained about thing there..
