stolen mobile, no insurance, need replacement help
Options
My phone a K750i with a 1GB memory card was stolen on the way to the airport. problem is that I have reported it to the police but my insurance company won’t cover the phone on my travel insurance.
I am looking to replace the phone and was wondering if anyone can point me to a really cheap deal. Unfortunately I have 9months to run on my 18 month virgin contract so am looking to get the best money deal on a phone. Or will virgin be nice to me and sell/give me a break on a new phone.
Thanks for reading this and any help will be appreciated.

You could buy a very cheap phone and the ask Virgin to let you have a replacement SIM card. Though they may charge you something for the SIM you really need to have it replaced if you have 9 months to go on your contract.
Here's a Nokia handset for £29.99 inclusive of £10 worth of credit on Orange. You may get one cheaper:

1st thing i would do, is phone Virgin and explain whats happened, and ask them to put a block on the phone, and i am sure Virgin will do you a good deal on a replacement, they have K700i refurbished for less than £50.
I lost my Virgin payg sim with £13.00 credit on, they sent me a new sim with the credit FOC.0 -
There are many offers at the moment that work out free (after rebates) for phone and contract. I know, you've already got a contract and probably don't want another but it works out free so why not have a look here ->

I went with e2save (owned by carphone warehouse) last year and have received 2 rebates with another one due in a few months. Other threads in this forum will tell you which other companies people can confirm receiving cashback from. The only catch is remembering to apply for the rebates (e.g. after the 4th, 8th and 6th months)0 -
Oh and I just remembered, if you phone virgin and tell them you've lost your phone they can offer you a special price on a new (or maybe it's refurbished) phone, at least they did when I phoned them after my Dad lost his virgin phone0
