Just to follow up my previous post and say today 11th Feb finally got my money out of Post Office bank, 13 days for so called instant access. They are a complete shambles with no interest in customer service would strongly advise anyone against a bank account with the Post Office0

I also got mine out of the Post Office, this took 12 days altogether from when I contacted them to request they close the account.
I had to put my request in writing, and send it to Widnes. Although I'd given them details of my "nominated bank account" when I opened the Post Office one,(they insisted this was necessary as they could only make transfers into this account!) I had to repeat these details when I asked them to close the account.
What I got through the post after the 12 days was a cheque made payable to myself. Just standard delivery, not needing signature either.
So I have twice given them full details of my current account with another bank for no reason whatsoever.
And how they can call it an instant access account when it takes so long to access your money is quite beyond me.
I'd advise anyone to get out of this bank.0
