Received a letter this morning from Mackenzie Hall working on behalf of 3 mobile for a debt of £31.82 which was settled on the 13/10/2005 and my Experian credit file updated on that to show account clear.
This is the fourth debt company that has been trying to get this £31.82 out of me every time they ask for the proof that the account was cleared I then a get a letter saying the account would be passed back to 3 mobile and I would not be bothered again.
I phoned Mackenzie Hall and told them i am not prepared to send them a copy of my credit file unless they sent the postage first, this they are unwilling to do so I told them to take me to the County Court and they can view the evidence there.
Was this the right thing to do ?

There was a big piece on Watchdog last night about 3 mobile chasing old debts that were not due. The company doing the chasing was Lowell, who were very persistent. They and 3 came in for a lot of stick. The story is here:-

Just another quickie Geoffo M.
Phoned the freephone number given on the link they are now pleading for forgivness, letters of apology will be sent shortly credit file cleared and account with 3 cleared.
