What should I sell on ebay??

Options
Hi guys,

I've read the ebay board but wanted to ask my pals on DFW ;)

I've been selling my kids' outgrown (decent quality) clothes on ebay to raise a bit of extra cash, but to be honest with you it only brings in a couple of quid here and there. That's fine, don't get me wrong cos I'm grateful for every penny :p !! I've read that some of you make quite a decent income from selling on ebay and just wondered if you could give me some good ideas for what to sell?

Thanks!

Sell whatever you see! CDs, videos, DVDs, books, games, clothes, gadgets!

What ever is in the back of the cupboard or in the loft that is just collecting dust! Unwanted presents!

You'll be amazed at what people do actually buy!

My advice would be to wait for the 5p listing days though! You can save a nice little sum that way! :D

I've found Ebay to be a bit hit and miss really. Some things sold for more than I expected (such as a small box of assorted beads I'd bought from a jumble sale for 50p went for £6!).

Other items such as fiction books/CD's have sold abysmally or not at all. I've got a few books and magazines on Ebay at the moment - I don't expect to get loads for them, but at least it brings in some money for my savings account and I'm having a declutter at the same time.

I did try buying some wholesale jewellery to sell on Ebay, but in the end I resold them on as one lot, as they weren't selling individually.

How about buying a few wholesale seasonal things (probably too late for this year - valentines items) halloween stuff, xmas stuff? If it doesn't all sell, you can save it for the following year or sell it on in one lot to get rid of it.
  • Eh up love,

Totally agree with other people, I used to sell running socks and that didn't make me enough quids.

I recommend you sell something your interested, from my experience it helps being excited about the product you sell and this will come in your listings. I highley recommend selling stuff that is high value items. i.e computer equipment, dig cameras, scan disk memory cards are quite in vogue. Thus each month you maybe busy or really slow but you will have quite abit of cash in the paypal/nochex bank end of each month. ;)

    hope that helps

Ive done fairly well on ebay in the past, but as others have said, it isnt always obvious of what will sell well and what wont!!

I am sorting out my things at the moment, and I know that when I go travelling my parents will store clothes etc for me, but I figure if I havent worn them whilst I am away (in 2 years) it's unlikely i'll need them when I'm back, so contemplating selling EVERYTHING!! (and I have some nice clothes) boo hoo!!! What is too much hassle selling on ebay will be taken to a car boot.

    xx

Have you tried listing these on Amazon? Yes, the fees are steep in comparison to Ebay (I think) but you only pay when things sell. We're trying to clear out at the mo, and have made about £100 in the last couple of weeks. Thank heavens poundland sell jiffy bags at 10 for £1! We've sold cds, playstation games and books. You can even sell electricals, I think ...

Today a CD which OH has been taking the mick out of me for owning - not his taste - sold for £39.99 - looking forward to THAT apology :rotfl:

    hiya,
i too agree,i always sell mine and the kids clothes on ,but every penny adds up also yes wait untill 5p listing day,i always load them up on my turbo lister and just wait, now i go to tkmx and primrk, anywhere really and get all the bargains,u will be amazed at where some of it goes ,ive sent so much to usa,and australia,go checkout back of shops for used bubble wrap and old boxes (as long as they r dry n clean) flatten them to save on buying packaging, also the royal mail will supply u with some packing stuff, and when u list make sure u get in at least 1 weekend.even toys that are still in good condition ,anyway ive gone on a bit now hahahahaha so bye n good luck :p :T :T :T :T :T :T :T
smile at everyone everyday and say hello :)
  • i STARTED on ebay this week, and I've put on a few CDs, a car vacuum cleaner we've never used and a few old souvenir newspapers, so far I've only made £4.78, but it's nearly £5 I didn't have before! I'm trying to add an item a day at the moment, but I don't want the hassle of selling anything too difficult to post.
Will go to Poundland for those jiffy bags though!

I wouldnt mind buying to sell on ebay as I have the time to put into listings etc but I can never find a bargain to sell :( Where ever the people get the monsoon goodies from are making a mint and it cant just be from the sales as two people have around 200 auctions per week! If only i knew their secrets :(
