    There are loads of child friendly eating places in Chester, with a new Pizza Express just round the corner from the Travel Lodge. They seem to have bogof offer pretty well permanently at present. Try Francs for excellent value set meals lunchtime and evening.

    I agree with parking just across the river in Handbridge, as it's expensive in Chester.

    A number of city centre car parks are free after 3 pm, so if you plan on being out fairly early you could make use of these.
