Staying at Chester central Travelodge next month has anyone any ideas for parking that doesn`t cost a fortune?

How far are you prepared to walk? There is some off street parking just outside the city centre.
  • We stayed at the Chester travelodge over xmas and parked in the shopping centre multi story car park about 50 yards away round the corner from the lodge, paid about £10 for 24 hours, which wasn't so bad for us as we had only paid £9 for the room.

There were other car parks close by but I think they were all roughly the same price.

We found that the pitcher and piano which was joined onto the hotel to be the best deal for the meals as they had special offers on when we were there.

Hope you enjoy your stay, it's definitely one of the nicer travelodges we have stayed at.

We're staying in the travelodge as well (for 3 nights in March), Ive been trying to find out about parking too so glad to see any replies!
Thats good to know about the Piano and Pitcher! We have a toddler and I was worried where we were going to eat incase places were all to posh in Chester to relax with a noisy toddler!!!! Do they do breakfast there?

I will try the Piano and Pitcher which will be very handy but where ever I go I usually use Wetherspoons who are also "child friendly".

    Two in Chester

We tend to park in Victoria Crescent or Lower Park Road, both of which are just across the (pedestrian) bridge over the River Dee. It is a residential area but I have always been able to park here.

Plenty of places are child friendly in chester: i would recommend chez jules, or 10 mins drive to an excellent thai in mickle trafford 2 courses for £5.50. any particular questions let me know! also plenty of discount zoo tickets available

When going to Chester we always use the park+ride because the city centre is a nightmare.

If you've got kids with you (or even if you haven't) you should definitely go to the zoo. It's officially the best in the UK and it really is.

Hi, as shopndrop says,if your prepared to walk i would say about 10mins if that. You can park just over the river in Handbridge which is a residential area and it is a nice stroll across the river Dee etc. Just around the corner from the hotel you have the visitors centre which will give you all the lowdown on the area and places to go etc and also the tourist bus is across the road.
    Hope you enjoy your stay!!
