Don't know where to start-want contract phone on O2
Options
Hi there,
Currently, I am on an O2 Online PAYG contract. By topping up £10 a month, I get up to 100 minutes or 100 texts (a combination of the two) and also get to spend the £10 on whatever (calls/texts as normal). I have a Sony Ericcson T630 phone. I think the free minutes/texts is a good deal, I also get 10% of topups back with their scheme (every 3 months) and with O2 rewards I chose to get free voicemail calls.
The problem is I now spend the credit very fast, topping up at least once a week £10 and perhaps a contract will cost the same or hopefully less. I'm not that fussed about the phone I'd like, however I'd prefer a Sony Ericcson as I like my current phone (though would want the latest one), and would probably stay with O2. I know there are all sorts of deals going on-the benefit of contracts seems that most phones you can get free, and there are other deals like cashback or a free gift. Does anywhere offer either an iPod Nano or preferably an iPod Video with a phone?
Also i'd like to go with someone who offers a reduction on line rental within the first 6 months or whatever. I definitely do not want to pay more than £30 a month, and want a lot of free minutes, texts aren't as important.
Basically, where do I start looking for one of these deals, and who can offer the best price? O2 themselves? Or an online retailer?
Thanks

If you must have o2 and Ericsson then one of these may suit:

or

some of those from e2save are 18 month contracts.0 -
Check out onestopphoneshop or dialaphone for the best deal on whatever phone you want on O2. Then get E2Save to pricematch it.0

Ok, I don't specifically want an Ericcson actually. Nor do I specifically need O2..I'd just like a great priced contract with a free iPod Nano or preferably Video, or a free PSP. Thanks for the help so far...0

I was on the 100 mins o2 online tariff, I rang up and got them to give me the call 500 bolt on, which gives you 500 mins a month for £23.50. Don't get to keep the £23.50, nor the 100 mins or 300 texts.
but far cheaper than anything else for that number of mins bar cashback offers which i didn't want to do,as I didn't want to take out a contract.
if you don't top up you just don't get the mins
(Its not an advertised bolt on, you need to ring and ask for it, they claimed they didn't know what i was talking about at first, but the bloke very quickly offered it to me)0 -
I've decided I want the Ericsson w800i-it seems the cheapest so far at Dial a phone, I want at least 200 mins and free texts. They're offering 200 mins, 100 texts for £30 a month, and the first 5 months for £3.99 and the contract is 12 months. I used the 'work' link-where do I save £45?! Also does anyone offer a better deal with a similar contract on this phone?
Thanks!0 -
Also, say the contract runs out and I've read the thread about the 02 retentions department, would I be able to phone up them and would they offer good deals for me to stay...though I would have bought the phone through dial a phone rather than them? It's just they're one of the most expensive. And I've read that others here get 300 mins and texts etc plus for like £20 a month-I really can't find such a deal, and don't really want to pay £30 a month for this! (but still want at least 200 minutes)0

Have a look at the 02 website if you top up more than £15 a month you can get 150 free off peak minutes but you have to send a text with the word MORE to a number cant remember it now, if you dont top up £15 that month you just dont get the extra minutes, if you top up £30 you get 300 off peak minutes still get your 100 minutes / 300 texts so if you change your 100 mins to 300 texts you would get, for £15 300 texts 150 off peak minutes 10% off calls with 02 treats and £4.50 reward every 3 monts.
With £30 top up you would get 300 Texts 300 off peak minutes + 10% off calls with treats and £9 rewards every 3 months.
or if you keep your 100 minutes just add them instead of the 300 texts. If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
