I always got great comments about my packaging when using brown parcel paper! What's wrong with it?

^^ this is what i was considering, apart from the fact then everyone knows what it is.

what i had hoped was there was some kind of clingfilm style wrap the i could just cover the box in.

You will be sending courier and in general for smaller items i pop them in a box. For larger items I don't bother, hard for someone to leg it out the depot concealing a hoover.

unfortunately the things i listed in the OP. for the odd package its fine, but the thought of wrapping ten at a time like that fills me with dread.

rubble sacks ? bin liners ??

    really ?!?!

Why not - used them often for big items, with suitable protection around the item - keeps it clean and dry - easly packaged and taped down with address labels on the front - nice and cheap (get decent quality ones so there is some thickness to them) never had any complaints.

Those large charity bags, turned inside out, work well also.
  • do you know how you could package clothing items? and perfume not in the box? im new to ebay and have just sold my first item!

Clothing - nicely folded & plastic bag to keep clean - then in jiffy bag or stonger plastic bag outer.

Perfume - any box with good protection such as bubble wrap or polystyrene (I use plastic magazine / post wraps scrunched up).
  • For clothes, I use plastic postal bags with self-adhesive seals bought from eBay. They work out about 10p or so each.
I once bought a laptop advertised as brand new in box, and it was sent with no outer packaging, the postal labels stuck directly onto the box. This would not have particularly bothered me if I'd bought it for myself, but since it was a gift for my son I was not impressed.
  • For plants I use special boxes designed to protect them, well taped up.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
