Advice Required Please On Paypal Dispute

Thank you Fay:
Should the seller supply a return address via the dispute or am I expected to request contact information via advanced search?
So what would happen if Paypal request a tracking number but I have no address to send- I would not be able to give this information to Paypal??
Thanks again0 -

The only ones known that do raise CBs for 'item not as described' via Paypal are Barclays and HSBC. Therefore most is certainly the correct term.
The relevant article and quotes is covered on another post with both Visa and Mastercard stating that they dont do chargebacks for authorised Paypal transactions. And I know from experience that American Express dont.0 -

Yes. You dont need to contact them at all.0 -
I have had an email from Paypal following a query on the dispute stating that if the seller does not resond in 10 calender days from the dispute being opened I will automatically win the dispute.
However it states that I will receive an email confirming when the 10 days are up and that they have found in my favour- this was yesterday. I have checked in resolution centre and it is still showing seller has until the 27/01 to resond (which has passed)
Any ideas how long it usually takes from timeframe expiring to receiving the refund please?0 -
Call paypal, they are getting a bit tardy with some of their dates. A couple of other people on various threads got their refund within an hour of calling paypal, so good luck!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thank you soolin fantastic advice. I have just come off the phone and they sorted it out there and then for me.I have had the confirmation email stating found in my favour:

you. Please allow five working days for this adjustment to be posted.

recover the balance from the seller.

seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account

Would It be fair to leave a negative due to refusal to refund when asked before dispute and the fact the goods were damaged??
The adviser on the telephone stated that as seller failed to respond they did not require the item to be returned. Does this mean I should keep/dispose off or should I attempt to find seller address and send back?
Thank you for all your help and glad it seems to be finally over0 -
Well done, now just make sure paypal remember to actually process the refund! (honest they can be that bad). You have it in writing though so all will be well now.
As for seller, yes I would neg them to warn other buyers. However do not mention the paypal dispute directly as that is grounds for the seller to appeal the neg, do it in a roundabout way.
Keep the item safely for a short while just in case, but once you have your refund it should be OK to donate it to a charity shop or dump it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. That would be via 'the direct debit guarantee' - which is compulsory on banks, not because they are 'sympathetic'. You will no doubt still owe Paypal the money, you will have a negative balance, be unable to use your Paypal account and will eventually be hastled by their debt collection agency.
The bank were initially reluctant to exercise the DD guarantee as the debit was some weeks earlier. I have no problem "owing" Paypal and will look forward to taking on their collection agency. Their T&C's look more geared to recovering money from recipients in the case of chargebacks but in the event they chase me, I look forward to my day in court. Plenty of photo evidence etc. Although it wasn't Paypal that rented me the house, they should take some responsibility in the transaction risk that credit card companys have to stand.
I've already closed my Paypal account and as the amount involved was close to £1,000 I have no qualms about never using them in my financial plans ever again.Signature on holiday for two weeks0
