Looking for a new broadband connection - advise?

I am looking to start a new contract for broadband...... I have a BT landline, however not sure if they are the best to connect through........

My PC is in my bedroom, and my landline is in the sitting room.... can anyone advise on how this would be done and also who is the best to go with......

Many thanks:beer:

Go on to the Samknows website and put in your telephone exchange details.
From this you will be able to see which ISP's have an LLU (own equipment) in it.
These may be your cheapest option.
Whilst its ideal to have the router connected to your master telephone socket, its perfectly possible to run it off an extention if this is done properly.
You could locate the router at the master socket and run an ethernet cable up to your PC.
You could also either use Homeplugs (work via mains wiring) or wireless by buying a wireless dongle for your PC, using it with the ISPs wireless router.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • if you can get bethere or o2 or sky max package then they be decent enough

Don't go with BT unless you really have to (i.e. no other options available)

As for the landline to bedroom

option1: get a wireless router and connect wirelessly if your pc has wireless

option2: plug your adsl filter into your landline then use an extension cable to get to the bedroom

option3: extreme option - open up your walls and run some more wiring through them
