    Wow - my own list looks pretty poor in comparison!

    Milly - think of it as less paying for a games console, and more an investment in some peace & quiet!;)

    Olive - Christmas 2009 already? Noo. Someone somewhere knowshow many shopping days there are left - BTW there's only 10 paydays left after this one.....

    My list looks like this:
    • Put on another loaf for tomorrow
    • use up last bit of veg from veg box for some yummy soup
    • [STRIKE]do the shopping and fill the cupboard with smart price stuff[/STRIKE]!
    • [STRIKE]Payday, so make sure the money's moved to the relevant accounts[/STRIKE]
    • Take DH his tea later, he's going out straight from work to his roleplay club so will save him 'having' to buy an expensive kebab on the way!
    • Check some survey sites I've not touched in a while - must get back into my routine
    • clean the house, for tomorrow I'm working
    • Make homemade pasties for tea
    • Get sorted out ready for next round of ebay/ebidding. Dig out scales, packaging etc.
    • Take stuff out of my cabinets, as a friend is taking them off my hands - not charging him (not very MSE!) but I just want them gone lol.
    Here's for a NUSD (No Unnessecary Spending Day) - It's my grocery shopping day, so a NSD is off the cards!

    Urgh halfway through the day and not done much yet lol. MSE is just too addictive - just one more competition....
    This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

    Current Pay Off Target : £1500 :mad:
  • hello all :o

    havent been about for a bit as have had some problems at home. mainly about oh's surgery on 5th feb. he is worried about it and taking it out on me and the morphine makes his head all fuzzy and he gets cross.

    - asked for discount off new boots for oh (little bit scuffed) and got £5 off
    - made dinner last night from fridge leftovers (leftover pasta in tomato sauce with old mushrooms, onion, squishy peppers, spinach and cheese sauce baked in oven) was very tasty!
    - booked the only builder that bothered to quote me to start the job first week of feb
    - anglian water have dug up the road for me and fitted the stopcock so now i can turn the water off!!

    todays plans are:
    - fill up my brown bin with more stuff that i cant compost
    - clean kitchen floor
    - use some reduced tuna for dinner tonight with veg that has been in freezer forever!
    - phone plumber again about fitting toilet
    - place and additional order with avon for really good customer

  • Hey Everyone!!

    I've not been on this thread for a bit - haven't been doing the little things to be honest.. but think I need some motivation this month so I'm back!!

    so I have

    *Cooked whole whoopsied (£2) Chicken - Breast meat will last sandwiches for rest of week, Bones and juices are in the slow cooker today making a load of Stock for soups... Thigh and sloppier meat I've put in the freezer and undecided what I'll make with it yet... I'm meant to be cooking a nice meal for OH next week so will use for that!
    *Have brought lunch
    *Computer charger at home is broken so I have shopped around for cheapest replacement (after seeing if anyone had spare first!) and am importing from Hong Kong for a third of price!
    *Eating Dinner at sisters
    *NSD
    *Will not buy any new books..... this is getting hard, but I have plenty of second hand ones that I have been given that I should try and read first!

    Hope everyone is well Princess Loki - haven't read this thread for a while so sorry to hear OH is having surgery - well done for staying DFW through it!!

  • Walking back to the car today after working, therefore, saving £1.20;
    Will comp a bit later (although less than the 3 hours I did last night!);
    Will check Pigsback and Quidco to see where my accounts are;
    Will consider selling my body to pay for my car repairs (£500 quid!)

    NB - The last one is not totally serious!
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!
  • Well I had a fab day yesterday – felt incredibly OS in my ways! Was inspired to drag out all the wilting, manky veg in the freezer and make a pasta bake with them instead of chucking them, made the best cheese and tomato bake and used up all the brownish, floppy peppers, mushrooms and onions I could find – also found out that we have 3 odds and ends of different types of cheese in the depths of the fridge – including an unopened (but turning a little blue) bag of grated mozzarella, so made a cheese topping with cheese and crème fraiche. Made 2 huge dishes of bake which OH and I devoured with all the odd bags of frozen veggies in the freezer – a very DFW meal as a year ago I would have binned all the ingredients rather than make a dinner from them! Very pleased! And I still have a whole dish left for lunches at work all week!

    Plus it was a NSD yesterday if you don’t include the fact that I booked my honeymoon – but im not including that!!!

    Today I shall:
    • Check online banking – have I got my pet insurance refund?
    • Check ebay buyer has paid
    • Check quidco make sure honeymoon has tracked – should be about £75 by my calcs!!!
    • Used posh free face cream sachet cos I had pillow creases that looked like wrinkles this morning so I felt I needed a posh moisturiser!!!
    • Ebay items that sold
    • Write complaint letter to TGI Fridays and Frankie and bennys – poor service, hope ill get some vouchers and an apology – don’t ask, you don’t get!
    • Read 3 for £1 trashy magazine tonight or library book – wow I know im gonna love this new book, its 452 pages and huge, its about Louis XIV’s secret wife – ill be reading it whilst im on holiday in spain – so it’ll always be treasured!
    • Have above mentioned bake for lunch at work – colleagues with cheese and tom sandwiches can watch and weep!
    • Wearing blue stripy socks
    • Extra half hour at work for flexi time
    • Try to maintain OS frugal ways for tea tonight – don’t ruin it all by having take away!
    )

    :beer:
